Description
Indications:

Dosage & Administration:
- Typhoid Fever & Severe Bacterial Infections: 25 mg/kg once daily via intramuscular (IM) injection for 7-10 days
- Bacterial Meningitis: 25-50 mg/kg IM every 24 hours
- Life-threatening infections: 50 mg/kg/day divided into 2 doses (every 12 hours)
• Administration: - Deep intramuscular (IM) injection ONLY—not for IV use
- Do not inject into a vein or mix with IV fluids
- Shake well before use
Precautions & Warnings:
⚠ Reserved for severe infections due to risk of toxicity
⚠ Can cause bone marrow suppression—monitor blood counts regularly
⚠ Avoid in neonates and pregnant women (risk of Gray Baby Syndrome)
⚠ Use with caution in liver & kidney impairment
⚠ Monitor for signs of hypersensitivity reactions
