Aciclovir Cream BP 5%

Description

Indications:

✔ Treatment of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections
✔ Cold sores (herpes labialis)
✔ Genital herpes
✔ Reduces viral shedding and transmission

Mechanism of Action:

• Aciclovir is a synthetic purine nucleoside analogue.
• After application, it is converted to aciclovir triphosphate by viral thymidine kinase.
• Aciclovir triphosphate inhibits viral DNA polymerase, preventing viral replication.

Contraindications:
