Description

Indications

• Treatment of essential hypertension (especially in severe or refractory cases)
• Management of hypertensive crisis (under medical supervision)
• Adjunctive therapy in congestive heart failure
• Antihypertensive treatment during pregnancy (preeclampsia/eclampsia under clinical supervision)

Mechanism of Action

Hydralazine is a direct-acting arteriolar vasodilator. It reduces blood pressure by relaxing arterial smooth muscles, leading to decreased systemic vascular resistance and reduced afterload, without affecting venous return.

Dosage & Administration
