Description
Mechanism of Action:
- Fluconazole selectively inhibits cytochrome P450-dependent lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis, which weakens the fungal cell membrane and leads to cell death.

Dosage & Administration:
- Systemic Fungal Infections: 200-400 mg once daily for 2-4 weeks (or as prescribed).
- Cryptococcal Meningitis: 400 mg on day 1, followed by 200-400 mg daily for 6-8 weeks.
- Oropharyngeal and Esophageal Candidiasis: 100-200 mg daily for 7-14 days.

- Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease.
• Avoid concurrent use with warfarin, rifampin, and certain antihyperglycemics.
