Description
Indications:
- Treatment of fungal infections of the skin and nails, including tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), and tinea corporis (ringworm)
- Management of onychomycosis (fungal nail infections)
- Effective against dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds
Mechanism of Action:
Terbinafine is an allylamine antifungal that inhibits the enzyme squalene epoxidase. This leads to a deficiency in ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes, and an accumulation of toxic squalene within fungal cells—ultimately causing fungal cell death.
Key Benefits:
- Broad-spectrum antifungal activity
- Fungicidal against common skin and nail fungal pathogens
- Fast symptom resolution in most dermatophyte infections
- Suitable for short- and long-term therapy

• Up to 12 weeks for nail infections - 500 mg strength may be used in severe or resistant cases as advised by the physician
